Guests arriving at a MasterKey partner hotel at golden hour

About

Built alongside the people who run hotels.

MasterKey started with a simple frustration: hotel teams know exactly what to do, but never have the hours to do all of it. We're building the colleague that closes that gap.

Our story

We ran the desk before we built the software.

MasterKey didn’t start in a boardroom. It started behind the front desk — in the gap between what hotel teams know they should do and the hours they actually have to do it.

  1. The frustration

The work that moves the numbers rarely gets done.

Between us we’ve run properties, managed revenue and worked the front desk. We knew the quiet truth of the job: the day fills up first, and the work that actually moves the numbers is the work that keeps getting pushed to tomorrow.

  2. The listening

So we went and asked — forty times over.

We sat with more than forty operators across Australia and New Zealand: independents and groups, city and regional. The same answer kept coming back — the information already exists, it’s just scattered across a dozen systems that never talk to each other.

  3. The answer

A colleague that closes the gap.

MasterKey reads every system you already run, works out what deserves your attention, explains why, and completes the work after a single approval — so your team spends its hours on guests, not spreadsheets.

What we believe

The principles we hold ourselves to.

01

Operators first

We build with the people who run hotels, not around them. If it doesn't earn its place in a real morning routine, it doesn't ship.

02

Answers, not dashboards

The job is to save time, so we bring the decision to you. Another screen to check would just be more work.

03

Earn the trust

We're read-only by default and we show our work on every call. Trust is the whole product.
